A pretty floral set comprised of a serving dish and four dessert bowls. The scalloped rims are decorated with red roses and blue flowers on a cream ground. Richly gilded to rims.
Hulme was based at the North Road Pottery and then Argyle Works in Corbridge, Stoke on Trent - one of the Staffordshire Potteries. William Hulme was acquired by Leighton Pottery sometime during World War II. Most patterns and marks remained in use, such as the one on this fruit set, dating it to 1948-1954 the last years of Leighton Pottery.
