These Art Deco, hand painted trios were produced by J.H. Weatherby & Sons Ltd. The items are hand-painted in sweeping brush strokes of grey, pink, yellow and black on a cream ground.
Production started at Tunstall in 1891 but after a year, it moved to the Falcon Pottery at Hanley. It first made domestic wares, such as basins and ewers and moved later into tableware and giftware. The business closed in April 2000 under the stewardship of Christopher Weatherby, great-great grandson of the founder, John Henry Weatherby.
