A stunning Art Deco fruit or dessert set consisting of a main serving bowl with six individual dishes. The pattern number is 9663A. Decorated with hand-painted floral sprays in enamels which stand proud of the surface. Colours used are red, blue, yellow, pink, black and green on a cream base. Richly gilded to the rims and the large bowl has an additional gold ring under the piece. A lovely touch.
These fabulous items were produced during the Art Deco period by Tuscan China, the brand name of R.H. and S.L. Plant, which worked out of the Tuscan Works, Longton, from 1898 - one of the Staffordshire potteries. They were sold by the Leeds shop J.H. Awmack, which was located at The Headrow and which specialised in glass and china.
