This stunning bundle consists of three Art Deco duos plus three saucers. The pattern number is 9663A. Decorated with hand-painted floral sprays in enamels which stand proud of the surface. Colours used are red, blue, yellow, pink, black and green on a cream base. Richly gilded to the rims. The attractive cup handles are decorated in green and black and embellished with gold trim around the edges. A pretty touch.
These fabulous items were produced during the Art Deco period by Tuscan China, the brand name of R.H. and S.L. Plant, which worked out of the Tuscan Works, Longton, from 1898 - one of the Staffordshire potteries. Although not marked as such, they were sold by the Leeds shop J.H. Awmack, which was located at The Headrow and which specialised in glass and china.
Approximate dimensions :
Cup x 3 2.75" / 70mm high

A tiny imperfection under the rim of one of the saucers is mentioned for completeness. Some rubbing to the gilding on one of the saucers. Some underglaze marks to the back of one of the cups which need not show on display.
These stunning items bear the maker's mark in use in the 1930s, painter' s mark, gilder's mark and pattern number.
The extra saucers could be used to hold chocolates, mints or cubed sugar perhaps.
