Four Sadler Wellington bone china trios decorated in the beautiful Harebell pattern. Richly gilded to rims, edges and handles.
James Sadler and Sons was founded in 1882 by James Sadler in Burselm, Stoke on Trent and is famed for its teapots. They began making novelty shaped teapots in the 1930s. These included crinoline ladies, Father Christmas and in 1938, the iconic racing car teapot, followed by a tank with "Old Bill" as the lid in 1947.
This pattern was produced from c. 1947 to 1960 and ours date from the latter end of that period. In April 2000 the company went into receivership and Churchill China bought the right to use the brand name and designs.
