This gorgeous footed breakfast cup and saucer duo by Regency China Staffordshire, is decorated with violets and leaves on a pure white ground and dates from the 1960s. Richly gilded foot, rims and handle. The pattern is RE5.
Regency China started life in 1953 at Sutherland Road, Longton, one of the Staffordshire potteries, nearby the famous Sutherland works of Hudson & Middleton. We think the pottery closed around the start of the 21st century circa 2002.
Cup - 3.25 inches | 83mm
Saucer - 5.75 inches | 145mm
Slight rubbing to the gilding on top rim.
Backstamp includes the word 'England' and the graphic differs from the usual picture, leading us to strongly believe that this duo was made for the American market.
A most pretty set.
