From Paragon we have a beautiful Open Sugar Bowl in the Michelle pattern with its pretty stylised flowers in pink and dark blue decorating the pure white fluted body. This elegant item is richly gilded to rims and edges.
The Star China Company - one of the Staffordshire potteries - was founded in 1897 as a partnership between Herbert Aynsley (the great-grandson of the founder of Aynsley China) and Hugh Irving. They traded only from 1900 until 1919 using the trading name of Paragon. In 1919 the company name was changed to Paragon China Co. Ltd.
