Four pretty bone china plates Old Royal plates from Sampson Smith Pottery. Decorated with a hand-painted on transfer design of leaves and pink blossom, which has been applied to a white ground.
Sampson Smith Ltd, Longton was one of the Staffordshire potteries. This factory was destined to become part of the Alfred Clough group in the 1950s until Sampson's closed in 1963.
The rims are gilded to which there is some rubbing. Stacking marks to the backs of the pieces.
