These stunning plates and saucers come from the Japanese factory of Noritake. All the items are decorated with floral and laureate sprays in platinum gilding. The rims also carry this platinum gilding.
The backstamp used on these fabulous items dates from 1908. However, the style is very much Art Deco and would fit into a time period of the 30s or 40s.
Noritake emerged from an earlier company called Nippon Toki Kaisha Ltd. in 1904. It was set a task to create a European-style hard white porcelain. This new business worked from the town of Noritake, Nagoya in Japan.
