Information

Beautiful Fruit Bowl or Serving Dish from Hornsea Pottery in the Saffron pattern created by John Clappison,  who was the most notable of the designers.

Based in the coastal town of Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the pottery was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson and partly funded by a butcher friend, Philip Clappison, father of John Clappison.  The pottery flourished until 2000 when it went into administration.
