Beautiful container for oil, vinegar or even small milk quantity, from Hornsea Pottery in the Saffron pattern created by John Clappison, who was the most notable of the designers.
Based in the coastal town of Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the pottery was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond and partly funded by a butcher friend, Philip , father of John Clappison. The pottery flourished until 2000 when it went into administration.
Approximate dimensions : 3.5" / 90mm high to top of lid.
In first class vintage condition, this lovely item will enhance any collection of Hornsea, or perhaps start a new one ?
