Denby's Greenwheat pattern is one of the iconic designs produced by the Denby Pottery. These egg cups feature a wheat sheaf hand-painted design on a white egg-shell glazed base, with complimentary high glazed dark green interior.
They were produced by the pottery at Denby, Derbyshire which was established in 1809 by Joseph Bourne. Greenwheat was created by Denby's chief designer, Albert College, and this well-known stoneware pattern was available from 1956 until production ceased in 1977.
Each piece of Greenwheat is unique as every item is individually hand-painted.
Here we have three egg cups in this classic design.
Approximate dimensions : 3 for large eggs 2" / 50mm high
To the rim of one is a teeny fleabite and another has a pinprick of missing colour - these are mentioned for completeness.
