The backstamp which dates from c1956, was the printed mark for Crown Staffordshire's specially designed tablewares.

Crown Staffordshire was established in 1889 at the Minerva Works, Fenton in Staffordshire. The eagle-eyed will notice that the backstamp says 'ESTd 1801' - this is a bit cheeky. It was in fact the the Minerva Works that were established in 1801 not Crown Staffordshire, so not a lie but a stretching of the truth!

This unusual set is in excellent vintage condition.

All our items are pre-owned and vintage and may therefore show signs of use and age and will not be dishwasher proof.
