Information
Fidelle Duvivier was a ceramic painter from Tournai, France.  He learned his craft at the Ceaux manufactory, near Paris.  He worked in England during the eighteenth century and his designs appeared on Derby porcelain.  This design is dated about 1770.

Clarice Cliff became enamoured of his work and she reproduced his designs on a set of tableware items.

Here we have four pretty tea plates which are decorated with floral sprays on a fluted base. They have been richly gilded to the rims to which there is some rubbing.  Clean age-related crazing to one plate.  Small flake to the underside of another.

Approximate dimensions :  6.25 inches | 160mm

Two of the plates appear to have the same central motif but closer examination shows differences in the arrangement of the surrounding leaves.  The order of the sprays around the rim also differs.

These plates have been loved and used but retain their charm and will display very well.

Backstamp.  Painter's mark.

All our items are pre-owned and vintage and may therefore show signs of age and use and will not be dishwasher poof.
