Information

Three dainty antique duos from John Aynsley decorated in a floral pattern with hand-painted pink and yellow flowers on a white ground.  Embellished with gold to the rims, feet and handles.   The design of the fluted body was registered in 1903.

The pottery firm of Aynsley was established by John Aynsley in Longton, Stoke in 1775.  In 1861 his grandson, also called John Aynsley, built the renowned Portland Works in Longton, Staffs.  Aynsley china is synonymous with high quality, strong and brilliantly white bone china.  One of the oldest surviving potteries, Aynsley made it to the 21st century and was still there after the closure of other big plants like Spode in 2007.
