Pretty Alfred Meakin teaset decorated on a cream ground, is a hand-painted on transfer floral design which includes pink roses. The items have gilded rims and handles to which there is some rubbing.
Alfred Meakin, Tunstall was one of the Staffordshire potteries. Alfred was a brother to James and George Meakin who operated from Hanley.

One cup has a fleabite to the underside and the jug has two tiny flakes to the base and are mentioned for accuracy.
The extra saucer will serve very well as an underplate for the Milk Jug.
In good vintage condition.
Backstamp in use from 1930. Marks for the painter and the gilder.
A most attractive set to grace any table.
