This super item comes from the Alfred Meakin pottery at Tunstall - one of the Staffordshire Potteries. Alfred was a brother to James and George Meakin who operated from Hanley.
The body of this footed Jug is smooth and elegant and is complemented beautifully by the glossy black glaze which covers the exterior.
Minor clean crazing to the inside of the piece is mentioned for completeness. A tiny spot under the foot appears to have been missed during the glazing process.
Approximate dimensions : 3.25" / 8.5cm high
