Four pretty square tea plates from Alfred Meakin. The flowers are hand-painted on transfer on an ivory ground. The pattern name is Churtsea.
Alfred Meakin, Tunstall is one of the Staffordshire potteries. Alfred was a brother to James and George Meakin whose pottery was in Hanley.

In excellent vintage condition.
Back stamp in use during 1940s. Painter's/Gilder's mark. Gilded rims.
